What should you compare?

Try the palette in a real screen design: place heading, body text, button and alert colors and view them in light and dark themes. If a tool offers color-blindness simulation, check that the palette stays distinguishable.

Confirm on the official page which export formats are offered (HEX, RGB, HSL, CSS variables or files for design apps) and whether saving needs an account. If print needs CMYK or spot-color values, remember that converting from screen colors is only approximate.

How do I know text color is readable enough? WCAG 2 recommends a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Enter text and background colors in a contrast checker; if the ratio is below the threshold, darken or lighten one of them.

Is extracting a palette from a photo enough? The dominant colors of a photo are a good start, but they may not give enough contrast for text and buttons in an interface. Use extracted colors as accents and add neutral tones for readability.
