Who is it for?

  • It suits designers and front-end developers who want to add an interactive 3D object or scene to a website.
  • It suits teams that want to connect 3D to a product interface through interaction tools such as states, events, timeline and physics.

Getting started

  • Sign in on the site; start in the browser or get the Mac or Windows app from the download page.
  • Build the scene, add materials and interactions; you can use ready-made items from the Spline Library.
  • Choose an export such as Web, React, Next.js or HTML/JS; on the free plan web exports carry a watermark, so check this before launch.

Decision points

  • The free plan has limited personal files and watermarked web exports; consider Hobby and above for watermark-free publishing and Pro for video or mobile exports.
  • If you only want 2D motion or simple animation, building a 3D scene may be heavier than needed; compare motion design tools too.

Limits

  • On the free plan web exports are watermarked; code and self-hosted exports are listed on the Enterprise plan. Prices may change and are not recorded here.
  • The terms say users keep ownership of their content and Community content defaults to the Standard Commercial License; commercial use of free-plan exports is not described separately, so check it.
