What should you compare?
Test with a few pages and open the result in Word or Excel: check that headings, tables, columns and fonts stay in place and that special characters display correctly. Before uploading a sensitive document to a website, see whether an option that runs on your computer exists.
Turning a scanned PDF into editable text requires text recognition (OCR); confirm on the official page which plan and which languages include it. Do not assume file size, page count or daily conversion limits are free until a source shows it.
Why does the layout break when converting PDF to Word? A PDF stores where each element sits on the page, and the converter has to rebuild paragraphs and tables from those positions. Multi-column pages, forms and embedded fonts are the parts that most often go wrong.
